Ballet d’Jèrri returns to Opera House tonight

Ballet d’Jèrri are stepping onto the main stage of the newly restored Jersey Opera House for the very first time.

Ballet d’Jèrri steps onto the restored Opera House stage for the first time this evening (24 October).

They are returning with 'Footsteps' - an exploration of connections that shape our lives, and “Sand and Their Castles”, which takes audiences on a playful journey through the messy, magical shift from childhood into adulthood.

Both shows are by choreographers who are making waves on the international stage - Garrett Smith and Tess Voelker.

The weekend will see three performances, including the opening night on Friday, 24 October and a matinee and evening performance on Saturday, 25 October.

Carolyn Rose Ramsay, Artistic Director, says they're excited to return home:

"We're so excited to finally be performing there."

"The company is based in the studio upstairs for our day-to-day rehearsals, and it's so exciting to trot downstairs and be able to put on a show.

"We feel the weight of the responsibility, all the work to keep the building alive and bring it back to life.

"We're trying to get out there to make sure we're reaching the whole community.

"Our company was founded on the philosophy that dance should belong to everyone."

Tickets have been offered on a ‘Pay What You Can’ structure, with the cheapest starting at £5.
