Newborn babies on Jersey's maternity ward are being given ear defenders while noisy refurbishment work is going on.
They are being used as a precaution while the facility at the General Hospital is undergoing a £6.5 million overhaul, which includes a bigger Special Care Baby Unit and en-suite delivery rooms.

The work is due to be completed by October 2023.
Health & Social Care officials say regular noise assessments are being carried out, and the noise has been deemed to be within safe levels.
