Autumn Covid Boosters To End On 4 March

Islanders who are eligible are being urged to get their Covid-19 autumn booster vaccine before the programme ends next month.

59% of those who qualify have had their autumn booster.

Around 2 in 5 who are yet to get theirs have until 4 March to take up the offer.

The so-called 'third dose' offer to people aged 16 to 49 who are not in a clinical at-risk group will also end on that date.

"Vaccination protects you against severe disease and hospitalisation. I urge those who are eligible and haven’t yet taken advantage of either the Autumn Booster or the third vaccine dose, to book an appointment or attend a rock-up clinic. It’s important to ensure you are given the best protection against COVID-19.

It’s not too late to get your first and second doses if you haven’t already done so. Details of any further spring or autumn booster programmes will be provided in due course.” - Director of Public Health, Professor Peter Bradley.

People can go to Fort Regent without booking an appointment, or go to a walk-in clinic at The Old Magistrates Court or Les Quennevais Sports Centre to get vaccinated.

Those who are eligible for the autumn booster include:

  • Aged 50 and over;
  • In a clinical risk group (aged 5 and over), including pregnant women;
  • Who are household contacts of immunosuppressed individuals (age 5 and over);
  • Who are registered carers (age 16 and over);
  • Who are health and social care workers;
  • Who are residents and staff working in care homes for older adults.

 The rock-up clinics will be held at:

Old Magistrates Court (St Helier Town Hall)

• Tuesday 28 February-Friday 3 March: 12:30pm-5:30pm

• Saturday 4 March, 10am-3pm

Les Quennevais Sports Centre – Dance Studio

• Friday 3 March, 2pm-5:30pm

• Saturday 4 March, 12pm-3pm
