The Savoy Hotel could be demolished to make way for 56 new homes, if planning permission is approved.
Owner Roberto Lora has submitted plans to redevelop the site, creating 13 five-bedroom, five four-bedroom, 34 two-bedroom, and four one-bedroom maisonettes and townhouses.
The site would also include a communal pool area, roof terrace, and private gym.

The project includes 'one of the largest' solar arrays in Jersey, designed to power more than 100 electric bike and EV car parking spaces - including eight spaces reserved for shared EVie cars.
Reviewing the plans, the Jersey Architecture Commission praised the 'high levels of sustainability and 'use of modern features taken from the area's historic context' but called for a 'reality check' to make sure that the scheme can be delivered on time and budget.
