Significant investment is being pumped into the marina's facilities, replacing two pontoons that date back to the 1980s.
£1.4 million is being invested into the project to modernise outdated infrastructure within the marina.
Two new pontoons have been shipped to Guernsey and are currently being stored in a temporary work compound on the East Arm.
Around 120 boats that are usually moored on pontoons D&E have been moved elsewhere to make way for the installation.
Guernsey Ports' diving team and engineers are currently working with contractors to construct three underwater concrete bases to support the size and weight of the new pontoons.
These upgrades are being purpose-built to support larger vessels, which Assistant Harbourmaster Kieran Higgs says is in demand.
“The replacement of the old pontoons has provided us with the opportunity to reconfigure the berths to make better use of the space available.
The area closest to the East Arm has the deepest water of any of our marinas, which makes it ideal for larger vessels, and particularly sailing vessels with deeper drafts. This will help us satisfy some demand for larger berths that are currently in very short supply."
Work started on the project in mid-January 2024 and should take around three months to complete.
