Dementia Friendly Guernsey has made a video that includes prompts encouraging conversation and reminiscence
Panoramic videos of iconic St Peter Port locations have been put together by Dementia Friendly Guernsey.
The content includes drone shots and old black-and-white photos of familiar locations such as the Market, the Library and the Bathing Pools.
Coordinator of Dementia Friendly Guernsey Julie Bulpitt says the videos are designed to stimulate memories and encourage communication.
"We hope it will bring enjoyment, stimulate conversation and help maintain social and cognitive engagement throughout the winter months and beyond.
"As far as I’m aware it (the Virtual Tour) is an original idea and we were very lucky to have Warren Mauger and Gill Girard who came on board and have done an amazing job, not only narrating but also producing the video in a world where everything has to be very fast this (the video) is at a very sedate pace"
The virtual tour can be found on the Dementia Friendly Guernsey website.
