Islanders are being encouraged to use live flight information when collecting arrivals from the airport to reduce traffic congestion.
Guernsey Ports says it has become a 'challenge' with vehicles circulating the airport before their passenger's plane has landed.
Sunday evenings are particularly busy when four flights from the UK land in the space of 30 minutes.
It follows changes to parking fares at the airport in October 2023 - the biggest change being the removal of the free one hour parking which was used by many people to wait in the terminal for an arriving flight.
The free period now ends after 30 minutes with the remaining 30 minutes charged at £2.
Passenger Operations Manager at Guernsey Ports, Harrison Bird is advising family or friends to only go to the forecourt when their passenger is ready to be collected.
“Most people will know from experience that once an aircraft has landed, it takes some time to disembark and transit through the terminal building. So for anyone coming to the airport to meet passengers, the most convenient option could be to wait until you know the flight has landed before you leave home.
This would undoubtedly alleviate pressure on the forecourt, while saving people time and frustration from being stuck in traffic gridlock following a late flight.”
Around 60,000 cars make the journey to the airport every month, which can cause congestion at peak times.
