A new group will meet monthly to support Guernsey mums returning to work.
Rooted and Rising is being launched by lawyer mums Jessica Robinson and Camilla Hobbs.
The group is for mums with little ones up to age three, and it’s all about making connections and swapping tips.
Camilla says they know firsthand that juggling work and motherhood isn’t always easy, but they hope the group will make it a little bit easier.
"You do feel like a different person once you've had a baby, and there is a lot of anxiety.
"You don't realise how much may have changed at work since you've been away, and you might be organising putting your kid into childcare, maybe for the first time, which is a little unsettling.
"During maternity leave, you have a support network of other mums and groups, but on your return to work, there are limited activities you can attend because most are during working hours, and the safety net goes.
"We wanted to create a safe space."
Bright Beginnings Children’s Charity will help run the monthly lunchtime sessions, and the group is sponsored by the founder's employer, Walkers.
Camilla says the aim is to make life easier for mums, with health visitors and physiotherapists joining future sessions.
The group will meet for the first time on 26 January at 1pm in the Dorey Room at the Guille-Allez Library.
It's a drop-in, free gathering, open to any mum in any line of work.
