New St Peter Port Christmas Lights Committee promising a 'bigger and brighter' display

Town Christmas lights are to be restored and expanded.

Local business owners and community leaders are coming together to produce an 'exciting and refreshed' Christmas lights display in St Peter Port.

The Managing Director of Creaseys, Jonathan Creasey, is chairing the new committee.

He is joined by Balthazar's Steve Le Poidevin, the Guernsey Retail Group's Victoria Taylor-Beard, St Peter Port Constables Diane Mitchell and Ken Acott, Bailiwick Estate's Sonia Taylor, the State's Lead Marketing Officer Zoe Gosling and the Association of Guernsey Charities' Wayne Bulpitt.

Together, they hope to enhance the festive atmosphere and draw more crowds to the town centre to support local retailers and hospitality.

Plans are in place to restore the existing lighting and purchase additional decorations for 2026 and beyond.

Fundraising efforts will start soon, with a QR code in development to make donating easier.

Mr Creasey says they are excited to get started.

"We’re thrilled to be taking on this iconic part of Guernsey’s Christmas tradition.

"Our team is full of energy and ideas, and we’re working hard behind the scenes to brighten up St Peter Port this year.

"We thank the outgoing Committee who have worked tirelessly for a number of years and look forward to building on the hard work they have put in to ensure the long-term future of the Christmas lights."

This year's switch-on will take place on Saturday 30 November.
