Manche Illes' Normandy and Channel Islands sailings to resume soon

Manche Illes Express is adding 35% more capacity to its France and Channel islands sailings this summer.

After transporting 56,000 passengers in 2024, Manche Iles Express says it has increased booking capacity by 35% for 2025.

The sailings from Jersey to Carteret will start on 10 April, from Guernsey to Diélette on on 18 April, and from Jersey to Granville on 24 April.

There will be inter-island crossings on Liberation weekend from Jersey to Guernsey on 9 May, and from Jersey to Sark on 10 May.

Weekly day trips from Jersey to Guernsey will run in May, June and September, and increase to twice a week in July and August.

There will be two day trip sailings from Jersey to Sark in May, June and September, which will increase to three times a week in July and August.

The company has scheduled four day trips from Guernsey to Jersey on Saturdays in July and August, and eight French day trips on Saturdays from June to September.

The company says the crossing to the islands and Normandy can be done in less than an hour, with tickets starting at £53.

As the 2025 boating season gets underway, ferry travel - particularly inter-island - has been a trending issue.

In October 2024 we reported that Manche Iles Express received €300,000 (nearly £255,000) from the governments of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark to maintain sea links with Normandy.

In February 2025 Guernsey's State gave £150,000 to Islands Unlimited, to run another inter-islands summer boat service.

Guernsey's new ferry services provider Brittany Ferries will run a weekly sailing from Guernsey to Jersey on Wednesdays, but there has been no announcement yet from Jersey's operator DFDS on a Guernsey route.
