Guidelines for private healthcare providers to re-start treating clients

Health and Social Care has produced a framework for businesses that offer private healthcare treatments to enable them to re-start operating.

As we move from one phase to the next of easing the restrictions on movement and business operations, the risk of catching Covid-19 in the community will reduce to a point when providers of close personal care may be safe to operate, with appropriate precautions and hygiene measures, without PPE.

In the meantime, anyone wishing to restart this type of business will need to carry out a risk assessment and apply to The Medical Director for approval.

It balances the need for businesses to be able to give their clients treatments with the risks of COVID-19 infection from face to face close contact. There is no obligation as some practitioners may be shielding themselves or want to wait until a later phase.
