The UK’s largest bus operator, Stagecoach, took over from CT Plus in April 2025.
Since 1 April 2025, Stagecoach says it has covered more than 1.3 million miles around Guernsey, with more than 1.7million journeys.
In mid-January 2026, the company began to gradually replace the diesel fleet with two electric buses purchased by the States of Guernsey.
Managing Director at Stagecoach South West, Peter Knight, is pleased with the takeover.
"It has been an incredible year for Stagecoach on the island.
"Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure customers get a clean, reliable service, and it’s been wonderful to see how our employees go above and beyond every day for the community."
President of Environment & Infrastructure, Deputy Adrian Gabriel, says the island has benefited from the operator.
“From our side, we’re delighted that Stagecoach has hit the ground running since they took over bus operations last year.
"As well as the day-to-day bus services, they’ve also used their extensive experience to help us propose changes to Guernsey’s bus route map and timetable to improve the service for users.
"We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with them to provide islanders with a reliable bus service.”
