Guernsey could be disgraced Andrew’s new home - Royal biographer

Royal commentators have suggested Guernsey may be an ideal island escape for Andrew to lay low from awkward questions about his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The former Duke of York could be set to move to Guernsey, according to a royal biographer.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of his royal titles and asked to move out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor by his older brother, the King.

Journalist Andrew Morton has written several authorised biographies on members of the British royal family, including Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II.

Speaking on Sky News, he said the Bailiwick is one potential new home being considered, as Andrew seeks to lower his profile.

Mr Morton said:

"I firmly predict that Andrew will have his cottage in Sandringham provided by the King, but also places in Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, Guernsey... all these places where people who have been ousted from their own countries go to live."

The then-Duke of York's last official visit to Guernsey was in July 2005, when he stayed at Havilland Hall and visited Government House, Le Rondin and the Grammar schools.

Before that, he came to Guernsey for a day trip in 1984 while serving on HMS Brazen.
