Beetons Chip Shop, along Pitronnerie Road in St Peter Port, smashed its fundraising goal to buy a heart restarting the machine.
Business owner Kim Ashplant, motivated by her sister's shock heart attack in September 2024, pledged to put all takings on 11 January 2025 towards buying a defibrillator.
She says they needed £1,500 and made £5,800.
"I'd love to thank the Guernsey community. Everyone was very generous in buying their chips and also in putting money in the donations box.
We had people coming in with checks, and we could have almost bought the defibrillator with money in the box alone.
It was great there was a line out the door and everyone was in good spirits."
The additional money raised will be donated to Guernsey Chest and Heart - a charity that provides free cardiovascular screenings and is entirely funded by donations.
The machine will be installed shortly.
In the meantime, Kim urges people to book screenings to ensure they have a clean bill of health.
