Alderney's lifeboat called to help a French yacht drifting in the Race.
The Roy Barker 1 got the call at 2pm on Sunday (21 May).
The yacht had left Cherbourg but when in the Race, off La Hague, had lost mechanical power.

This, combined with very little wind, meant it couldn't return to port, so the captain put in a mayday call.
The RNLI attached a tow to the 30 foot yacht and it was taken, along with its two crew, to Braye harbour, arriving at 5pm.
