Channel Islands Send Regards To King Charles

The Chief Ministers of both Guernsey and Jersey have wished His Majesty a 'full and quick recovery'.

The Channel Islands' top politicians are among world leaders extending their regards to King Charles following the news of his cancer diagnosis.

Deputy Lyndon Trott says Guernsey's thoughts are with the Monarch.

Jersey's Chief Minister, Lyndon Farnham, reacted to the news on social media.

Wishing His Majesty a full and quick recovery following his cancer diagnosis.

 The Bailiff of Jersey has written to the King.

King Charles has postponed his public duties as he undergoes treatment but he will still carry out state business, including weekly meetings with the Prime Minister.

Prince William will cover some public engagements on his father's behalf.

External Relations Minister for Jersey Ian Gorst and Jersey's former Chief Minister Kristina Moore have also sent their regards to His Majesty.

Alderney's President William Tate send wishes from the island:

“On behalf of the People and States of Alderney, I would like to send my very best wishes to His Majesty and the Royal Family, and I hope he has a swift and complete recovery following his cancer diagnosis.” 

Buckingham Palace has not released any details on the type of disease discovered, except to say that it is not prostate cancer.
