Buyer Found For St John Health Care Shop

Guardian Medical has bought the St John Health Care Shop and it will continue trading.

The charity announced last month that it was so shutting the store because it was losing money.

The board of directors said the business was no longer viable in the current economic climate.

St John says it is pleased the shop can continue to service the community - supplying mobility equipment and healthcare products.

Although a new location is being sought, the Rohais shop will resume business as usual, and keep the staff on.

St John is working with Guardian Medical Guernsey Ltd to transfer business operations in a very cooperative manner.

The Health Care Shop will immediately resume business as usual activities, with Guardian Medical Guernsey Ltd management taking over operations fully as of the 20th of February.

Guardian Medical Ltd have operated in Jersey for more than 25 years, and had been planning to expand into Guernsey.
