UCJ Applications Up 20%

The number of applications to study at University College Jersey has risen by 20% this year.

UCJ will have more than 200 higher education students based at Highlands College this September.

The surge is thought to be down to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on travelling to the UK to study.

The local college works in partnership with UK universities based in Plymouth, Sussex and London to offer degree qualifications.

Assistant Education Minister, Deputy Jeremy Maçon, says the island based university performs well academically and has more first degrees than most UK Universities.

“It’s fantastic to see UCJ growing from strength to strength. Jersey should be proud that it offers such a wide variety of Higher Education courses from digital to sports which means we can grow our own talent on-Island."
