A four-vehicle collision on the Esplanade this afternoon (1 July) is causing major delays through town.
It happened at around 1pm and involved a car, a van, motorbike, and bus.
The driver of the car has been taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Access is blocked from Route De Liberation roundabout and the underpass onto the Esplanade Westbound, and is expected to be closed for some time.
Islanders are being asked to avoid the area.
Investigations are ongoing.
One of the drivers, a 31-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
Many school buses have not been able to arrive because of the incident, with parents and carers asked to make alternative arrangements to get home.
