A free exercise group has been created to encourage islanders living with dementia to get moving.
Dementia Jersey is launching S Club, a new gentle exercise group for people with the condition and their carers.
Each week will have a different theme:
- Strike - seated boxing led by boxing.je's Daniel Du Four;
- Stretch - seated yoga with Helen from Step 55;
- Step - Tai Chi style moves led by Ann from Step 55;
- Shimmy - Line dancing with Karl from Step 55.
Islanders can choose which classes to attend, which are on a four-week rotation.

Around 1,600 people in Jersey live with dementia, and with an ageing population, Dementia Jersey expects this number to double.
Susie Kelly, Activity and Volunteer Coordinator, says the charity is thrilled to be able to offer the exercise groups.
"Our aim is to provide an inclusive offering so everyone has the chance to get involved, keep active and perhaps try something new.
Exercise provides so many benefits, and those who attend our activities are also forming new friendships and having fun."
Funding was given to Dementia Jersey from the Jersey Community Foundation to deliver free classes for everyone with the condition and their carers or family members.
The sessions run from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, each Tuesday, at St Martin's Public Hall.
