Islanders were evacuated from a building on La Colomberie on New Year's Eve due to a gas leak.
Jersey Fire & Rescue were called to the scene by Island Energy on 31 December, after evacuating people from their flats.
The utility company was already on the scene, dealing with a 'known gas leak' in the road.
Island Energy says it has strict policies and procedures in the event of a gas escape.
"When we are called to attend, we use a highly sensitive gas detection unit and follow a thorough checking process on all call-outs.
"We monitor inside buildings and outside within a wide radius."
The emergency services were required to assist engineers in accessing empty flats to check for gas readings.
Jersey's firefighters were not needed in the end, but they stood by in case Island Energy needed any additional help.
Once the engineers were happy with their readings, Jersey Fire & Rescue were stood down.
The company says:
"We take all reports of potential gas escapes seriously and have a 24-hour emergency number 01534 755555 in place for islanders to report any potential escapes."
