New Condor CEO Appointed

Condor will have a new CEO from 1 July after Paul Luxon stepped down.

Mr Luxon took charge in May 2016 and steered the company through the height of the Covid-19 crisis and the sale to a consortium including Brittany Ferries and asset management firm Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

He will be replaced by John Napton, who is the UK Director of Brittany Ferries and a Condor board member.

"I leave in place a strong, talented and capable executive leadership team, who are all committed to the strategy and business plan and serving our customers.

The company is in a strong position and its new fleet concept is the right model to deliver the right services for the period following the change in ownership and the reinvigoration of the Channel Islands post-Covid." - Paul Luxon.

Mr Napton (48), has worked for Brittany Ferries since 1990 and has been the UK Director since 2015.

Condor says he was instrumental in putting together the new fleet plan and chartering fast craft Normandie Express - rebranded the Condor Voyager - from Brittany Ferries.

"Despite challenging times, Condor will continue to be the lifeblood of the Channel Islands providing essential services, connecting people and
delivering freight. I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead Condor through the rebuilding stage post Covid, working with our key stakeholders to ensure that the Island economies bounce back.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank Paul for all his hard work in navigating the ship through the current crisis." - John Napton.
