Man Jailed For Helping To Supply Illegal Drugs

A 25-year-old man who was involved in supplying drugs with a street value of around £8,000 has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Charlie James Roy, who is from the Isle of Wight, was arrested in March 2021 after a warrant was executed and amphetamine and a small amount of cannabis was seized by officers.

Data was then taken from his phone, which showed that he was involved in supplying MDMA, cocaine, and amphetamine since 2020.

Roy pleaded guilty in the Royal Court in December 2021.

"Almost all of the investigations we carry out concerning drugs are complex and time-consuming.

We continue to work together with the Law Officers Department (LOD) to ensure that the hard work put into each operation pays off and we keep illegal drugs and those who deal in the misery these drugs bring, off our Island’s streets." - Detective Sargeant Jim McGrahanan.
