A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries in a crash on Wellington Road.
Police say the red Ducati Monster was going up the hill near Beaulieu School when the rider lost control, fell off and hit parking bollards.
The bike caught fire.
The accident happened at 1.50pm on Saturday (14 June) and no other vehicle was involved.
A 52 year old man was treated at the scene and taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable.
The road was closed for approximately three hours.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses, dashcam footage or CCTV.
