Jersey has made it to the 2023 International/European Kenpo Karate Championships in Italy.
The team, which is made up of 25 young islanders, are all from the Jersey Kenpo Centre in Fort Regent.
Roy MacDonald, chief instructor, says the team has been training very hard over the last nine months.
"Some have never competed before, [but] we, the Jersey Kenpo Karate Club at Fort Regent, are very proud of the team, who have surpassed themselves with their time and effort."
Members of the club, who range from six years old to 17, will be taking on 500 other young people from teams from around the world.
Countries attending the competition in Rome include:
- USA;
- Spain;
- Germany;
- Belgium;
- Italy;
- The Netherlands;
- Ireland;
- England;
- Greece;
- France;
- Portugal.
