The St Helier Honorary Police will be carrying out extra patrols in the lead up to Christmas.
Officers will be on the look-out for drink-drivers and check that vehicles are up to scratch.
They'll also be helping the States police on weekends, with town expected to be busy with Christmas parties.
Vingtenier Ben Wheaton is urging people not to risk drink-driving.
"Our general advice is none for the road. We'd also recommend assigning a designated driver and if you're thinking about walking home, maybe walk home with a friend or relative. Keep to lit-up areas so that you're safe walking along the parish roads."
The States of Jersey Police will be announcing plans of its Christmas campaign next week.
