Islanders in Gorey are set to face 10 weeks of road closures on Gorey Hill, as Jersey Electricity plans to upgrade the network.
Jersey Electricity was asked to provide 'additional service' for a customer in the area, so it has taken the opportunity to upgrade the network on Le Mont de Gouray.
The work is set to begin on 29 January until 9 April.
Dave Powell, Service Delivery Manager for Jersey Electricity, says they will be digging trenches and putting in new infrastructure.
"Jersey Electricity has been requested to do additional services to a customer in the area, and as part of that work, we obviously have to do some digging up of the roads.
"What we've done as part of that is to make sure we do it the best we possibly can; we're doing additional network reinforcement in the area, as well as providing for that customer."
Islanders in the area are being encouraged to attend one of two drop-in sessions at Gorey Youth and Community Centre on 13 January from 10am until 2pm and 15 January from 4:30pm until 6pm.
Gorey Hill will be closed from just past the chip shop in the Village up to the top near the main road.
The project is being done in three phases.
