Seventeen Jersey firefighters will take on this month's 48-mile Island Walk in full firefighting kit.
The protective gear includes a suit, boots, helmet and a breathing apparatus cylinder weighing approximately 30kg.
Four teams of four firefighters will complete the relay event around the island's coastline, each taking on 12 miles.
Firefighter Marcin Mietelka will tackle the entire 48.1-mile route solo.

They are raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support to serving and retired firefighters and their families, and the Around the Island Walk Trust, which supports Jersey charities and community initiatives.
Scott McCoy, an on-call firefighter who will be taking on the challenge, says it will be great to do it alongside other walkers:
"As a team, we can push each other through things, and whoever else is pushing through the walk and who might be struggling.
"It will be good for other people to see us struggling with them and supporting them too.
"The kit doesn't let much heat out, so we're hoping for not too much sun, maybe a bit of rain just to cool us down.
"We do like a challenge, and it's important to spread awareness of charities and get involved.

The Island Walk takes place on 21 June.
