Drivers Warned Of Disruption At Longueville Junction

There are likely to be delays along Longueville Road from next Monday while a resurfacing project begins.

It includes work on the junction of Longueville Road and Rue Saint Thomas.

The government says it'll take around two weeks to complete:

  • Monday, 9 September to Friday, 13 September from 7pm to 11pm – Lanes will be closed, so drivers should expect delays
  • Sunday, 15 September from 9am to 8pm – the junction of Longueville Road and Rue Saint Thomas will be closed, and drivers will be diverted
  • Monday, 16 September to Friday, 20 September from 7pm to 11pm – Lanes will be closed, so drivers should expect delays
  • Sunday, 22 September from 9am to 8pm – the junction of Longueville Road and Rue Saint Thomas will be closed, and drivers will be diverted.

Highway Maintenance Manager, Rob Cabot, says the work is badly needed:

"The underlying layers of Longueville Road at the junction with Rue Saint Thomas are beginning to disintegrate, so it is important that we carry out this project. We will need to remove 150mm of the road’s structure, adjust the levels of manhole covers, and replace the tarmac in two layers which will take two weeks."

There'll also be reconstruction work within Rue des Pres trading estate between the 16th and 20th September.
