The owners of the Rice Bowl at Grève d'Azette say they'll have to further delay its reopening following the theft of £2,000 of decking.
The decking was stolen on Saturday (1 July).
Hayley Yu, daughter of the owner, told Channel 103, the family is gutted.
"It's been quite a long process to get to this stage, and we're finally getting towards the end of the project and now we've come up against this now."
The theft happened at around 8.30pm and was captured on CCTV.
"You can see a man get out the (white transit van). He is having a look at the decking and then he starts cutting it down and loading up his vehicle with it. He leaves about half an hour later and then he comes back at about 9.30pm to get the second load."
The Rice Bowl was supposed to reopen this month, after closing in January 2022 for renovations, but the theft has pushed the relaunch back to the end of August at the earliest.
Hayley - who is co-founder of Awabi restaurant in St Helier - says all her father Ken just wants is to serve his customers again.
The family has thanked islanders for their support after a social media post about the theft was shared hundreds of times.
"It has shown that there's a lot of support in the community - a lot of love for Awabi and a lot of love for the Rice Bowl.
"A lot of people have been invested in seeing it reopen again, so when they find out that someone has done something like this to us, they'll be just as disappointed as we are that we're not opening sooner."
