Jersey Police are appealing for witnesses after a crashed car was found abandoned on La Grande Route de St Brelade.
A white Suzuki Vitara SUV was found in the middle of the road with the engine still running. The driver had fled the scene.
There was significant damage to the front passenger side.
The vehicle had been heading down the hill from Woodbine stores towards St Aubin at around 10pm last Saturday night (18 June)
Police say it is believed the driver wasn't the registered keeper.
Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who could identify the driver.
In particular, they are keen to hear from a woman who is understood to have arrived on the scene shortly after the crash and saw a person walking away from the area.
"Anyone who has any information is asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org"
