Unlike the other seven, who were off-island arrivals, this person - who was already on-island - was diagnosed after being admitted for a test.
It's the ninth new case confirmed this month.
Two of the eight confirmed to have Covid-19 have symptoms. All are isolating along with close contacts.
It brings the total number of cases this year to 345.
No-one is being treated for the virus in hospital.
More than 700 tests have taken place at the ports in the last 24 hours, with no positive cases.
We have completed 719 more tests since Wednesday, 5 August, with 0 new positive.
