The crew of an Elizabeth Castle ferry is being praised for rescuing a drowning woman from the sea.
The puddle duck – operated by George McIlwraith and Chris Hearmon – rushed to her aid as she struggled on the causeway against the rising tide.
George jumped into the water fully-clothed to pull the woman – who couldn’t swim – to safety.
He told Channel 103 that so many people involved deserve the praise.
