Budding artists are being invited to illustrate a newly-commissioned book about inspiring Jersey women.
Soroptimist International Jersey is celebrating its 70th anniversary by asking students to create illustrations for its book ‘Inspiring Women of Jersey’ by author Penny Byrne.
Money raised will go to support the work of two charities, Jersey Women's Refuge and Brightly.
Students aged 14 to 21 can submit pictures of one of 16 'Inspiring Women of Jersey', with figures including Lady Florence Boot and Dame Babette Cole.
The book will be launched on International Women's Day in March 2022.
Catherine Kirby, of Soroptimist International Jersey, says they want talented young islanders to contribute.
"The members of Soroptimist International Jersey are well aware of the amazing creative talent in the island and wanted to give art students an opportunity to have their work in print."
Soroptimist International Jersey will be hosting a workshop for students to come together and share their ideas.
"We encourage local art students to come along to the creative workshop, at JCG on Saturday 2 October 10am-4pm. Artists Eliza Anna Reine and Karen Le Hoy Harris will be on hand to inspire ideas for illustrations of the 16 main women who will feature in the book."
"Students who cannot attend on 2 October can still register to provide an illustration of one of the 16 women."
Places for the workshop can be booked at https://sigbi.org/jersey/ and final entries must be in by 4 October.
