A French yacht had to be towed into St Peter Port by the lifeboat after losing engine power and taking on water.
A Mayday call was received just before 10pm on Bank Holiday Monday (29 August). saying the vessel was around 2 miles off St Martin's point.
The All Weather lifeboat 'The Spirit of Guernsey' was alongside within 40 minutes and two crew went on board to pump the boat out.
It was safely in the harbour by 11.40pm.
A little over 24 hours earlier, the RNLI's inshore lifeboat was launched to pick up a person stranded on rocks at Petit Port.
They had been cut off by the rising tide.
The 'Elizabeth & Margaret Milligan' was deployed just after 7pm and was back on station within the hour.
