Signatories to an online petition say failure to start work on a new runway surface within months could damage the economy and risk the airport being closed.
The online petition was begun on Riduna Radio on 30 December.
It says it is not aimed at the States of Guernsey, which it accuses of not seeming to care, but at the British government, and potentially the King.
The online document calls for resurfacing and widening work to begin by the end of March 2025.
Without this, it warns the economy could stall and people leave the island as a result.
It says urgent airlifts for patients needing off island treatment depend on a working airport.
It does not ask for the runway to be lengthened.
That plan was passed by the States of Guernsey in December 2022 but after the only tender came in £13M over budget, it has been shelved and other less costly options are being considered by both island's governments.
Specialists went to assess the runway in late September 2024 to put together a design and a cost estimate.
It was last resurfaced in 1999 but parts of it have been patched a number of times since then.
