A Chelsea pensioner supporting the Royal British Legion in the Channel Islands says they 'do not forget', as Jersey and Guernsey prepare to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
People across Jersey and Guernsey will gather tomorrow to mark Remembrance Sunday.
Guernsey's main ceremony is at the War Memorial in St Peter Port.
Jersey's main service is at the Cenotaph.
Former soldier Jim Roger, who's 83, is helping the Royal British Legion in the islands with this year's poppy appeal.
He says those who are still with us need their support:
"Military people are not good at asking for help; they have to be supported, and that's what this enables.
"Along with other supporting charities that look after all sorts of wonderful things.
"It all stays on the islands, so hopefully we'll receive more than we got last year, I believe it was about £200,000 last year.
"A bit more this year would be nice; they've been very generous to date, so that's good."
