Deputy Lyndon Trott is the new president of Policy and Resources after Deputy Peter Ferbrache and his top team were ousted.
The former Chief Minister grabbed the senior role after three rounds of voting in a secret ballot.
The new president of P&R and former Chief Minister was put forward by Deputy Simon Fairclough and stood alongside deputies Rob Prow, Peter Roffey and Charles Parkinson.
The election came after the States voted to remove Deputy Ferbrache and his committee after a second failed attempt to push through their funding and investment plan, which included a GST.
Politicians have adjourned the sitting until tomorrow (14 Dec) when it is expected Deputy Lyndon Trott will choose his senior colleagues.
