A Guernsey woman has united a community of generous individuals and organisations to gift a bus to Bright Beginnings.

Lucy Domaille says that for the last three and a half years, she has received invaluable support for her son Colbie from Bright Beginnings.

The local charity runs a Children’s Centre, Nursery, Preschool and a literacy programme.

Lucy decided she wanted to give back and spoke to her business partner Andy Furniss at Le Petit Train, about donating an unused 8-seater vehicle.

She then contacted a number of individuals and organisations to see how much they could give.

The 8-seater got new artwork from Paul Beausire at Sign Solutions, a year of insurance from Oliver Goater at Network Insurance and Financial Planning, and a year of fuel from André Whiteway at Whiteway Motors.

CEO of Bright Beginnings, Lisa Blondel, says the bus will give the charity the freedom to take the children on enriching outings.

“We are thrilled to receive such a generous gift, which will truly brighten our children’s lives.

"The ease of having our own transport is immeasurable and will enable the children to experience learning, fun and joy beyond our setting on a regular basis.

"The staff are extremely excited to take the children out and add further enrichment to their time spent at Bright Beginnings.”

Lucy Domaille says the generosity of the others has reaffirmed her faith that "good people do exist and when you come together, anything is possible."
