The Guernsey Housing Association says part of the exterior of Cour du Parc is scheduled to be washed.
While the front of the Cour du Parc block is clean, the northern side is stained with green algae, from top to bottom.
It is the least visible side from the road, but a neighbour highlighted the problem to Island FM and owners the Guernsey Housing Association have told us that this part will be cleaned.
The work is already scheduled, but the GHA says given the staining is not in a prominent place, it has to balance spending a large amount on specialist cleaning against other essential maintenance in its property portfolio.
The block was extensively refurbished by the GHA around ten years ago.
This included cladding it in a green material to protect and insulate the building.
Subsequently, following the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017, it was discovered that the cladding was not as fire retardent as first thought, and represented a medium, not low, fire risk.
