Guernsey's oldest pub is for sale

The Plough Inn has lost its claim to fame as it is now on the property market for £350,000.

The Plough was a local's bar in the built up area of Vauvert in St Peter Port and opened as a public house in 1810.

It closed almost exactly one year ago and landlords the Liberation Group said at the time they were committed to finding a new tenant, but this has not materialised.

It is now on the market for offers upwards of £350,000 and is promoted as a development opportunity.

The agents say that subject to planning permission it could be converted into a home.

The upper floor is already a single bed flat while the ground floor is the pub and kitchen. It does not have a parking space.

The Plough joins a growing list of closed Guernsey pubs to close.

In the immediate vicinity there used to be the Caves De Bordeaux and the West End Bar.
