13-year-old Chole De La Mare is heading to Wimbledon, after winning a local competition
The teenager entered the 'play yourself to Wimbledon' competition, which is one of the largest mass participation competitions in the country.
Having won the under-14 event in Guernsey earlier in the year, Chole went on to win the regional finals in Jersey yesterday (16 July).
She'll now go to the national finals at the All-England Club on 6 August.
Before heading to Jersey, Chloe spent the week before volunteering for the Island Games, where she spent every day at the Tennis Centre.
She says she watched them play throughout the event.
"I was determined to follow in their footsteps and play well in Jersey. I’m so happy to have played so well today. It’s really exciting to have the chance to go to Wimbledon to play on the grass, which is something all tennis players dream of - I can’t wait."
