Alligations have been made against the Governor of Les Nicolles Prison, regarding his conduct.
Guernsey’s Prison Governor, John De Carteret, has temporarily stepped aside while an investigation into conduct allegations takes place.
The States Chief Executive and Head of the Public Service, Boley Smillie, issued a statement:
"Matters will be investigated fully and fairly and no one should draw any conclusion from the Prison Governor’s decision to temporarily step aside.
"I will provide an update once the investigation has concluded but will offer no further comment."
Deputy Governor Tracey Mahy will run the prison in the meantime.
