The Little Big Group has purchased The Duke of Richmond Hotel from the Red Carnation Group and says it will update it but pay 'great respect' to its history.
The four star Duke of Richmond Hotel sits opposite Cambridge Park, some 10 minutes walk from central St Peter Port.
It was part of the The Red Carnation Group which also owns the Old Government House, Guernsey's only five star hotel.
The Little Big Hotel Group's MD, Charlie Walker, says they will update the hotel on the outskirts of St Peter Port and pay 'great respect' to its history:
“The Duke of Richmond has this incredible charm, and we can’t wait to elevate it while keeping its unique personality intact.
“We’re all about making places feel vibrant, welcoming and, most importantly, memorable.”
The purchase price is not being revealed.
The group already owns the Fleur, Peninsula and Douvres hotels all of which have been refurbished.
The CEO of Red Carnation, Jonathan Raggett, says they will keep the OGH in the group and have plans to refurbish it:
"The Old Government House is set for a significant renovation that will elevate its legacy and set a new standard for luxury on the island."
