A sponsored dog walk will take place at the end of October to raise money for Guernsey Mind.
Mental health support charity, Guernsey Mind, is inviting islanders and their furry friends to walk 3K along L’Ancresse on Sunday 26 October.
The event is the first of its kind locally, inspired by another Mind organisation in the UK.
Entry is £5 and every dog will receive a goodie bag.
Events Lead, Amanda Hibbs, says pet companionship and physical exercise are both associated with good mental health.
"Caring for an animal can help add structure to your day, provide companionship.
"I am always talking to my dog, they are great listeners and they don't judge you."
Islanders are asked to book their place on the charity's website ahead of the walk.
There are four time slots from 8.30am till 10am available, with 50 spaces each.
Amanda says dog walkers need to be sensible.
"We are asking people to keep their dog on a fixed lead at all times, rather than an extendable one.
"Owners must have full control of their dogs and are solely responsible for their behaviour.
"If people know their dog will be stressed out by being surrounded by lots of other dogs, then we are offering the opportunity to do this remotely as well.
Poo bags and extra bins will be provided along the route.
