An intergalactic blue android will be splashing about at Cobo Bay on Boxing Day to raise money for charity.
40 years ago, local actor Dean Hollingsworth made his first TV appearance in a Dr Who episode, titled Timelash.
He played a blue-faced and yellow-haired character called a Karfelon Android, alongside the Doctor at that time, Colin Baker.
In aid of charity, Dean will be resurrecting the character and joining Guernsey's Boxing Day Dip at Cobo.
He hopes to raise £1,250 for the Guernsey Cheshire Home.
Dean says he's excited to get involved, but may not need face paint to turn blue, as he's never swum in the sea later than September, until this year, when he is a regular swimmer:
"The challenge is quite a big one because I’ve never ever swam in the sea at this time of year.
"But I also thought it might be a bit of a laugh...someone who is blue going into the sea, it’s too much of a gag to pass up."
Dean Hollingsworth's performance on season 22 of Dr Who is still available to watch on the BBC iPlayer.
