Grassroots Guernsey football clubs get matchday ball donation

Clubs competing in the Priaulx League will be kicking around professional-grade balls this season.

The Guernsey Football League Management and Aztech Soccer have agreed a sponsorship deal to support grassroots football in the Bailiwick.

They're supplying 20 FIFA-approved footballs to each of the seven Priaulx League clubs, as well as Alderney FC.

The clubs are Belgrave Wanderers, Rangers, Rovers, North, St Martin’s, Sylvans and Vale Rec.

In total, 160 footballs have been donated, with a typical retail value of around £4,000.

Aztech director Rob Jones is pleased to support the players.

“Aztech has always been a proud sponsor of numerous initiatives which support local football at all levels.

"We are delighted to extend this by making a significant contribution to the Priaulx League by way of distributing free, top-quality FIFA-approved Puma match balls around the clubs, to include supporting Alderney FC”.

GFLM Chairman Andy Robert hopes the donation will enhance player experience.

"Whilst we acknowledge that Aztech have ongoing business relationships with local clubs on an individual basis, we’re delighted to agree a deal at Priaulx League level which sees Aztech as a League sponsor, and we look forward to working with Aztech over coming seasons.

"Such deals are very important for GFLM and local grassroots football as we seek to add value to member clubs, and we look forward to further opportunities both with Aztech Soccer and indeed with other local entities generally".
