New signs show walk and cycle times to CI town centres

New signs have been placed around St Peter Port and St Helier, showing how long it takes to walk or cycle from key locations into town.

Islanders are being encouraged to leave the car at home and try active travel for Better Journeys Week, which is from 19 to 23 May.

In Guernsey, the signs include:

  • A 15-minute walk from The Grange to Town Church
  • An 18-minute walk from China Red to Town Church
  • A four-minute cycle from the Halfway to Admiral Park
  • A six-minute cycle from Muse to Admiral Park

In Jersey, signs to Broad Street include:

  • A 23-minute walk from Trinity Hill
  • A 19-minute walk from Queen’s Road
  • A 13-minute cycle from St Aubin’s Road
  • An 11-minute cycle from Longueville Road
  • An 18-minute cycle from La Grande Route de Saint Clement
