Jacques McEneaney is rasing money for a local healthcare provider, by taking on his most extreme sea swimming challenge yet.
The 36-year-old has swum the 5km to Herm and 16km to Sark in previous years.
Jacques says more than doubling the distance, to 40km, to reach Alderney, will test his endurance.
"When you are out to sea, and it's dark and repetitive, you are really in your head.
So the hardest part is dealing with the cold and being able to break the time down."
He thinks the challenge on 22 August will take 6 hours.
He hopes to raise £1,000 for Guernsey's Health Connections on his giving.gg page.
Jacques worked for the charity, helping islanders without transport get to doctor's appointments.
He moved to England earlier this year (2024), but has returned to the island to swim.
