The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation wants to honour the late Matthew Girard with a life-sized LEGO bench at his former primary school.
Guernsey LEGO fans are being invited to help create a colourful memorial bench.
The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation (PPBF) is looking for 10,000 spare bricks to honour Matthew Girard.
The 12-year-old Guernsey boy, who loved LEGO, passed away in September 2020, aged 12, due to cancer.
Charity Founder Jo Priaulx says his parents, twin sister and school love the idea of a LEGO bench tribute.
"The school said they love the fact that it is going to be a colourful bench, it will be used as a friendship bench, so people can go and sit on it and reflect, and we will keep Matthew's name up there.
"I know this is a lot of bricks to ask for, but hopefully the island will come toegtehr and we will find as many bricks as we can, and we will build the bench."
The PPBF has three flats near Southampton Hospital that are used by Guernsey families when children are receiving treatment.
One of the children’s bedrooms is nicknamed ‘Matthews’s Hideaway’ and is also Lego themed.
The launch of the project yesterday (28 January) coincided with International LEGO Day.
Islanders can donate bricks, sized 2x4, to Aladdin's Cave or the Model Shop & Dice Gifts on Fountain Street.
PPBF say some Star Wars Lego Mini Figures and flat top plates for the seats would be appreciated.
